Kidada Jones's jewellery is great in so many ways, but ultimately because it's all based on Disney. For designer jewellery it's affordable, but not being someone who wears rings on every finger and bracelets to their armpits etc. I really don't have the spare cash for it. I do have one proud bracelet from her though, it's pink and has a gold Tinkerbell, and quite honestly couldn't be more girly; I love it. And here's next on my wishlist (they have some of her collection in Start on Charlotte Road/Rivington St) -
You really have to see the whole collection to appreciate it and I found the most extensive collection at Regencies. P.s - to top it off everything comes in a lovely little navy silk bag. M x

Back to Vinyl

I've officially started collecting records and it's surprisingly exciting. I always hated the idea of collecting something because it sounds like the sort of thing that people do when they find themselves living alone at 40 with no friends and driving themselves to insanity, with hundreds of cats for company - the sorts of people who might collect Nazi memorabilia or something. Its a bit like going on a adventure to a lost world finding all this old, forgotten music. It's a cheap and cheerful way to spend your change and you could find something potentially valuable.I'm not a serious 'record collector' but it is fun. I just can't decide whether to buy an old or new record player but there are some lovely ones on ebay. Like this one -One hour long visit to oxfam got me some fun old stuff - Dexy's, Dolly Parton, The Trammps, The Commodores, who I hate but they have 1 or 2 good songs, 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease and Bananarama - for less than a fiver. And even though the music's kind of shitty I had fun.

Happy Summer Mornings

One of the things keeping me happiest at the moment (although maybe not the happiest size) are the regular fry ups i find myself making in a desperate hungry state on sunday mornings. The only thing i can justify them with is a glass of OJ alongside, they are so so so unhealthy but also mofoly tasty. Sitting in the garden with the sun on my back and my horse sized brunch is the guiltiest of pleasures, mostly enjoyed with liz and the radio, much to the horror of my new neighbours. Go ahead and destroy that bikini bod youve been working on all year.

The Good Old Days

Its that time of year when virtually whatever time your awake its light - the best proof that summer's coming you can get. And with summer comes some long wanted new clothes as I move those Barbours and woolly jumpers to the back of my wardrobe. Whilst organising my money to fit around buying these clothes I can't help thinking of the good ol' days when my clothes were all bought for me, mostly courtesy of my mother.
I started thinking about those clothes and how there are so many I wish I never grew out of. I'm not sure where they all went but they probably ended up in Oxfam. So i thought I'd dedicate this post to the clothes I wish I still had and the happy memories I have of them -
1. Rachel Riley PJs and nighties. Pretty and floral and so perfect.

2. St james stripey t-shirts. Until I get a new one I'll carry on wearing the ones I still have from years ago.

3. Liberty shirts and dresses and even though I desperately want them I simply can't afford to.4. I'm tempted to redo this shirt/shorts/shoe combination this summer.

My First Post

Well its been a sort of ongoing dream of mine to start a blog and i now realise the only thing stopping me was laziness, the same thing that stops me doing most things i want to do in life. I'm not quite sure what this whole things going to be about yet but i think mainly things i'm interested in and think other people might be too. First things always start off hard and get easier so i'm hoping this will improve in weeks and months to come. Mx
